As you might already know the “Antivirus live” is not really an Antivirus, on the contrary it is a kind of a virus, malware if to be more precise (a mal software, that functions like a virus and hurts your operating system/computer!).
If you think AVG can remove it, then you need to think again, multiple reviews all over the internet claim that up until latest AVG version (december 2009) it fails to remove the Antivirus live, it is not an Avg bug, it is just not capable to do this task. Btw, don’t get confused with microsofts antivirus, Antivirus live is of course not related to them, but was designed to fool people to install it as antivirus, while it damages the computer, collects information about you etc.
So, you must remove it to restore your computers health and speed, it is not as simple as it is when “legitimate” software is concerned (they come with an uninstall functionality).
The developers of the Antivirus live tried to make it hard to uninstall it.
How to uninstall/remove the Antivirus live platinum?
You can do it manually through all kind of guides distributed through the internet. But if you are not a technical person, or you want an automated solution and save yourself hours of headaches I would recommend the reimage solution.
Reimage is a very cool technology that can fix almost all (if not all) malfunctions happens with windows XP. Read here how it works. It will remove the antivirus live and all other viruses/malwares/spywares etc.
If you use the Vista operating system you can use a bit less advanced solution like this advanced registry cleaner, it will remove the Antivirus live, but won’t solve as many other problems you might have in your PC (I guess you have installed the Antivirus Live to fix some problems with your pc…).
Good luck with curing your computer and removing the antivirus live, please tell me how it went and ask what ever questions you might have about it, I will try my best to answer any question.
