It is actually a combination of a virus, a spyware (spies on your computer/online activities and collects data about you) and a malware (a malicious software designed to harm your pc/install more viruses/display pop up windows with ads).

Many were scammed to install Antivirus live thinking that by doing so they are protecting their computer, but actually doing the opposite.

In reality, if there are any malware programs in your system, it is likely that Antivirus Live had put them there. This is one reason that this rogue security program is dangerous. I guess your computer is infected with Antivirus Live and you want to remove it immediately. I don’t know if you can take comfort in the fact you’re definitely not alone!

Ok, so lets see what we are dealing with:
The bad news are that once installed on your computer, it looks like it’s game over for you. The virus infiltrates the registry (the windows database) and starts creating false pop up alerts. You may also notice modifications to your desktop background and browser. More then that the virus uses  spyware to record sensitive information from your computer.

Antivirus Live (Platinum) Removal

The best way I have found to remove Antivirus live (also called Antivirus live platinum) and to repair all the damages it created is by using a software that is a combination of an Anti-Spyware and Anti-Adware (which are basically what’s Antivirus live is all about).

One of the “smart” things Antivirus live does is it detect such programs (it actually got a list of them) and disable them, so I had to find programs it can disable but that they can disable it. Here is the list of my recommended programs that can eliminate** Antivirus live (platinum and basic):

** There should be no problem using the above programs to remove Antivitus live but, if for any reason you fail to activate one of the above programs, restart your PC in safe mode, if that still doesn’t help, rename the name of the program you downloaded and try again.

The bad news are Antivirus live “company” will not give you money back, it is a scam, and as such they will not give you any money, they are expert at taking money but not in returning it…

The good news are you can get your money back, it depends on how stubrn and patient you are, there are international laws regarding online payment I will address two of them:

1. Credit card payment done without a physical signature – any transaction done with credit card must have a physical signature of the credit card holder, if not the credit card holder can deny he had ever done this particular deal. Which means, if you call your credit card company after you see the payment on your bank account and tell them you never purchased this product they will refund you (taking the money of course from “Antivirus live”. It is a small “white lie”, and you can’t do it several times or your credit card company might cancel your card. In this case in which you were scammed I think it is fare enough.

2. This one is better and no “white lies” are needed: If you purchase digital products (I think it applies also to all products) and you didn’t recieve what you were promised and the merchant refuses to refund you, you can ask your credit card company for a refund. The downeside is that you will have to explain it and persuade the credit card representative what’s this all about… now, for some of them “spyware/adware/rogue” and even virus might be like foreign language. But, with a little effort (sending an official email/letter always help) you will get your refund.

If you paid through Paypal then it is a bit more complicated the people there are a bit more “difficult” and I personally hate talking with them, but they do have a despute department where you can complain and get your money back. Look into your account and find there the despute link, leave them a messege and then call them.
